Nørrebro Teater presents Brimheim x MOTHER

Brimheim’s latest album, RATKING, explores human duality, romantic dependency, and the need for external validation – told from the perspective of a woman who believed she could only be whole through her performance and her audience. In the second part of the album, the urge to reject, destroy and burn down these illusions takes over. On the stage of Nørrebro Teater, the concert becomes a performative rite of passage. The music is reimagined and transformed through the encounter with MOTHER’s visual and performative universe, and through the performative world created by MOTHER, Brimheim will never be the same again.

Brimheim x MOTHER is the first performance concert in the new format Performed Concerts. Audiences are invited to experience how music can unfold in new forms, when the concert takes place at the theatre stage, creating a surprising and aesthetically driven, narrative musical experience.
The first edition in the series of Performed Concerts presents an artistic encounter between the acclaimed Danish-Faroese musician Brimheim and the Berlin-based, cross-aesthetic duo MOTHER.

In the encounter between Brimheim and MOTHER, the performance concert becomes a portal – a threshold between two artistic eras. A ritual regicide and a farewell to the RATKING universe, where the figure of KING must fall, allowing something sensual, magical and intuitive to emerge.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Brimheim
(b. 1990) is a Danish-Faroese singer and composer who, since her critically acclaimed debut in 2020, has established herself as one of Denmark’s most visionary artists and songwriters. In 2025, she won Album of the Year and Producer of the Year at Den Uafhængige, as well as Album of the Year and Composer of the Year at the Faroese Music Awards for her major work RATKING, which was also nominated for Album of the Year at Danish Music Awards. The album additionally spent six weeks in the top 10 on the influential American radio station KEXP.

In 2024, she embarked on her first European and UK tour, followed by a Scandinavian tour that culminated in a major finale at Store Vega. In 2022, she was named Talent of the Year at Carl Prisen. Singles such as “Literally Everything” and “Exquisite Bliss” have received heavy radio rotation, including being featured as P3’s Uundgåelige, and she has performed a series of concerts that earned six-star reviews.

MOTHER is a Danish, Berlin-based cross-aesthetic duo established in 2018 by Camilla Lønbirk (b. 1993) and Olivia Schrøder von Lüttichau (b. 1991).

The duo works at the intersection of set and costume design and has presented works at, among others, Schauspielhaus Wien, Münchner Kammerspiele, Theater Magdeburg og Aveny-T in Copenhagen.

The two met in 2014 while working with the Danish-Austrian theatre company Signa. MOTHER creates performative universes, where the visual elements do not illustrate the music, but transforms it – now also in their encounter with the concert format on the stage of Nørrebro Teater.

ABOUT PERFORMED CONCERTS
Performed Concerts seeks to break down the traditional boundaries of how art and culture are presented and experienced. On the stage of Nørrebro Teater, the rhythmic concert is explored and challenged through encounters with a visual artist – whether a contemporary artist, filmmaker, or designer – to investigate what happens when the traditional concert format is transformed through a visual and performative approach developed specifically for the theatre.
