Community partnerships
We believe in culture’s ability to connect people and open perspectives. That’s why we actively work to make the theatre accessible to more people and to create opportunities for everyone to become part of the communities that form around the arts.
We collaborate with NGOs, associations and organisations that make a difference, like Foreningen Alenemorskab, Mødrehjælpen, Bedsteforældrenes Klimaaktion and Aktive Ældre. We invite different communities into the theatre – across generations and life circumstances.
We also make our house and platform available to initiatives that we believe deserve space and attention. At the same time, we continuously work to make the theatre more accessible, giving more people the opportunity to take part in the experiences, conversations and communities that emerge here.
Among others, we collaborate with:
NørreBrobyggerne
With NørreBrobyggerne, Nørrebro Teater is creating a performing arts programme for children from Nørrebro, with play, creativity and community at its heart. Here, children have the opportunity to explore the performing arts, find their own voice and experience the power of creating something together.
This collaboration is made possible by generous support from TrygFonden.Nørrebro Lokaludvalg
With Nørrebro Lokaludvalg, we host panel discussions in connection with local elections. When the annual Bilfri Søndag takes place on Nørrebrogade, we open up our costume archive and organise theatre and other activities in the street. In 2026, we presented a short teaser from Radionauterne og den mystiske morgen outside of Sankt Ansgars School.
Goldschmidt Musikakademi
Goldschmidts Musikakademi creates an open and welcoming space for children and young people, where music strengthens self-esteem, community and cultural understanding.
Nørrebro Teater hosts the academy’s annual summer concert, giving the stage to young voices, musical encounters and new communities.Fuldt Hus
Nørrebro Teater is part of Fuldt Hus, an initiative that works with cultural organisations across Denmark to make cultural experiences more accessible to people in vulnerable situations.
Through the initiative, we donate unsold tickets to organisations including Danner, The Salvation Army and Hus Forbi. This helps make the theatre accessible to more people – and to the experiences, perspectives and communities that emerge when we come together through art.Kulturpasaktør
Nørrebro Teater is a Kultuturparaktør and we are committed to opening the doors to new communities for young people in vulnerable situations. Kulturpasset gives young people aged 15-24 access to cultural experiences across Denmark, including art, theatre, music, sports and much more.
K7
Nørrebro Teater is part of K7 WEEK and aims to make it easier for young people to experience theatre and become part of the cultural scene. During week 37, young people aged 18-25 can buy tickets to selected performances at Nørrebro Teater for just DKK 40.
K7 WEEK opens the doors to cultural experiences across Denmark, inviting a new generation into museums, art galleries, theatres and concert venues.Psykinfo
Nørrebro Teater collaborates with PsykInfo Hovedstaden on the festival Don’t Fear The Weird, which focuses on mental vulnerability, mental illness and the taboos surrounding them.
In 2025 and 2026, the festival was part of Nørrebro Teater’s programme, with talks that make space for new perspectives on subjects that can otherwise be difficult to talk about.AutismGoTo
Nørrebro Teater is part of AutismGoTo, and they have created a social story about the theatre for autistic people and those in their network. The social story can help make it easier to plan and prepare for a visit to the theatre.
Please download the social story here.
In addition to the social story, we have created an information sheet with practical information about Nørrebro Teater. Please download it here.Black to Normal
Black to Normal is a festival dedicated to supporting and promoting Afro-Danish performing arts of high artistic quality, while creating inclusive artistic experiences for everyone. In 2025, Nørrebro Teater hosted talks and community gatherings as part of the Black to Normal festival.
Muskelsvindfonden
Muskelsvindfonden and Nørrebro Teater have been partners for several years, using talks and other events to explore the multifaceted challenges faced by both individuals and society – particularly in relation to body culture, mental health and wellbeing.
We want all our guests to feel welcome and comfortable at Nørrebro Teater. This also applies if you have a disability, have specific needs, or require additional support or a quieter environment during your visit.
Please read more about accessibility here.
