ART INSTALLATION AND MUSICAL PERFORMANCES IN THE FOYER OF NØRREBRO TEATER
The exhibition COLLECTING THREADS combines an art installation featuring silk weavings set within oak frames with a musical performance.
The installation is created by scenographer Ellen Ahnfelt-Rønne, and the performance features classical violinist Amalie Kjældgaard and actor Ludmilla Faber Striim. In a poetic staging by director Johanne Holten, the work explores how we unravel and tie knots within ourselves – and how, with care, we can gather the threads again. Within ourselves and with one another.
Through themes of connection and dissolution, hope and reconstruction, the woven structures function as a metaphor for the human being as a fragile construction, always interwoven with both surroundings and an inner life of emotions and thoughts.
The installation itself will be on display in the foyer of Nørrebro Teater until 31 March, while the musical performance will take place on three occasions.
The four artists behind the work artist and scenographer Ellen Ahnfelt-Rønne, director Johanne Holten, violinist Amalie Kjældgaard, and actor Ludmilla Faber Striim work through an improvisational and experimental process in which traditional dramaturgy is challenged in favour of circular, site-specific, and open-ended forms.
All performances are free of charge but require registration.
The project is supported by Hoffman og Husmans Fond, Knud Højgaards Fond, William Demant Fonden, Louis Hansen Fonden, Skuespillerforbundet og Lizzi and Mogens Staal Fonden.
