The World’s Worst Arab
As a young boy in Baghdad, Adnan was the perfect Arab. So perfect, in fact, that he ended up singing “Happy Birthday” to dictator Saddam Hussein on Iraqi national television. But then everything took a dramatic turn. His family moved to Viborg, Denmark, and before long he had gone thoroughly Danish. He forgot his mother tongue almost as quickly as he forgot the unwritten rules of Arab culture, and suddenly he had become a genuine haram boy.
The World’s Worst Arab is a satirical and deeply personal show by Adnan Al-Adhami, who lost touch with his roots in the process of trying not to lose himself. In his debut stand-up show, Adnan takes the stage with disarming honesty, using humour and courage to tell a story that strikes both the heart and, above all, the funny bone. Adnan Al-Adhami is known for his sharp social satire on DR P3, where he fearlessly challenges the country’s decision-makers with brilliantly awkward questions. Now, he is turning the microphone on himself.
The show is presented by All Things Live.
