HOSPITALITY

Internationally acclaimed actress Connie Nielsen makes her theatre debut as she takes the stage at Nørrebro Teater as the vengeful Marquise de Merteuil, opposite Christian Tafdrup as the transgressive Valmont. The production is a radical new interpretation of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, directed by Jennifer Vedsted Christiansen.

Renæssance is a performance about holding on to one’s worth and strength, and about insisting on occupying a meaningful place in society. The production gives the stage to the women themselves and seeks to narrow the gap between the stories told by media and fiction about older women – and the stories these women tell about their own lives.

Bambi moves with her mother and father into the shadow of an amusement park to live what appears to be a safe and sheltered life. But the idyll begins to crack. The mother feels herself slowly slipping away in her attempt to protect those she loves, while striving to live up to both personal and societal ideals.
