Actor Trine Dyrholm and Author Thomas Korsgaard in Conversation

Nørrebro Teater, CPH Stage, and FOF København & Nordsjølland present actor Trine Dyrholm and author Thomas Korsgaard in a conversation exploring how they work with empathy and shifting perspectives through art. The conversation will explore their approaches to bringing characters to life and creating new, surprising, and deeper portrayals of both the inner lives of their characters and broader themes such as power, gender, class, and the relationship between urban and rural environments.

The conversation is moderated by journalist and author Gudrun Marie Schmidt.

Trine Dyrholm (b. 1972) is an actor, trained at the Danish National School of Performing Arts, graduating in 1995. She has appeared in numerous theatre productions as well as film and television, including Hævnen (2010), En Kongelig Affære (2012), Dronningen (2019) og Pigen med Nålen (2024). Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards, including 11 Robert Awards, most recently for her performance in Pigen med Nålen.

Thomas Korsgaard (b. 1995) is an author who debuted in 2017 with the novel Hvis der skulle komme et menneske forbi. He later completed the Tue trilogy with En dag vil vi grine af det (2018) and Man skulle nok have været der (2021), for which he received the prestigious De Gyldne Laurbær award. In addition to novels, Korsgaard has written short stories, children’s books, and drama, most recently the play Sat i verden, staged at the Royal Danish Theatre in 2025.

Gudrun Marie Schmidt (b. 1976) is a journalist and podcast host at Politiken. She is also the author of Sting, saks, begær, published by People’s in 2025.
